You might be wondering what I’m about.

Well, I am happiest when I am helping people figure out who they really are, what they love to do best, and what kind of people they like to help.

Then, through their blogs, websites and online profiles, I make sure that everyone else is clear on that, too.

But what do I do?

I give blog check-ups, complete with a prescription slip (okay, it’s a little longer than that) so they know what will make their blog feel better. Be liked more. Be read more.

I help bloggers solve their peskiest problems with customized, content-focused blog coaching.

I write About pages and Twitter bios and LinkedIn profiles that make people say, “Hmm. This business sounds interesting. I need to know more.”

I help people figure out just what makes them so freakin’ special and write website copy that helps them find the customers they were meant to be serving.

And, I blog.

I love to write about things that get people thinking about how they can show up online in unique, real ways. How they can attract more website and blog visitors with a true voice and compelling copy. How they can use social media to get their brand out there in the world.

Occasionally I like to stir things up.

And, from time to time, I like to send subliminal messages that get people to hire me to help them become better writers.

Okay. I made that last one up.

I also offer my best blogging advice, tips and resources to members of Savvy WordPress, a site to help WordPress users and bloggers create super-cool websites and blogs and power up their blog content.

7 things you’d probably rather not know about me but I’m going to tell you anyway

1. I can speak four languages.
I know French, English, Spanish and Swahili. (Okay, I can only say ‘Four knives will be sufficient’ in Swahili, but you never know when that will come in handy.)

2. I have written three middle grade children’s novels.
They are sitting forlornly on the shelf, still in rough draft stage. Someday I will finish them.

3. I was attacked once by a mob of angry mosquitoes in Senegal, West Africa.
After I had fallen asleep, the college intern who was joining our team for the summer had come into the hotel room we were sharing and opened the window because she was ‘too hot!’ I woke up looking like Elephant Woman.

4. I can sing some very strange songs.
Because I used to teach first graders, I can still sing ‘I’m a Little Pile of Tin, No One Knows What Shape I’m In’ all the way through, complete with the hand motions and honking sound effects. Since leaving teaching, I have only sung it once in public. It was in a place called the Silver Dollar Bar somewhere in Montana.

5. When I was in third grade, I wanted to be an interpreter at the United Nations.
Different goal. Strange child. I got laughed at a lot.

6. I’m a reader, a feeder and a collector.
In my spare time, I like reading 19th century novels (Have you read Les Misérables lately? It’s fun!), preparing gourmet meals for stray cats and collecting those little snow globe thingies.

7. When I get bored, I like to make things up.
I love turning the sound off old movies and voicing new lines of dialogue for the characters. Old 40s movies in black and white work the best. All that drama! Seems like they were always arguing about something.
